About Elimu+

Why we exist.

Elimu+ was born from a simple observation: training programmes in this community were leaving too early. Participants would complete a course, receive a certificate, and return to exactly the same conditions, because no one stayed to help them navigate the first 90 days. Musa Asubuhi and James Kimani founded Elimu+ to fix this. Not by building another training programme, but by building one that doesn't stop at the door. The SEE Canvas (Solutions for Entrepreneurship and Employment). The SAME framework. The 30/60/90-day follow-up. These are not features. They are how we see, visit by visit, which businesses are holding on and which need help.

Tunaanza, tunaendelea, tunafuatilia.
(We start, we continue, we follow through.)

Our journey so far.

Four cohorts and about 45 people since 2025, every one with Deliverance Church International, Likoni (KE358).

2025 · Youth

Youth Cohort 1

15 young people took part in our first programme during the school holidays. All completed, presented a SEE Canvas to their parents and received certificates. The church's project director rated it 4 out of 5 and said she would definitely invite us back.

Spring 2026 · Adults

Adult Cohort 1

10 women completed our first adult programme. At 30 days, 9 of 10 businesses were active. At 60 days, 8 of 10 were confirmed operating, 5 women reported rising income and our field team judged 4 businesses clearly growing, with KES 213,190 invested across the ten businesses. The 90-day visit is next.

May 2026 · Adults

Adult Cohort 2

Nine women enrolled in May 2026 and eight completed the programme. It was taught in Swahili on the upgraded SEE Canvas v3.

September 2026 · Adults

Adult Cohort 3

Twelve caregivers attended and nine came all five days of the 5-Day Crush, which spends its last two days on costs and income, the part of the canvas people find hardest.

Next: monthly Elimu+ forums that bring past participants together, planned to begin at the end of October 2026.

What we believe.

Follow-through is the product.

Training without follow-up is incomplete. We stay.

Locally grounded, not generically applied.

Mwanahamisi sells omena in Likoni. Not tomatoes in a case study from Nairobi.

Honesty over ambition.

We are a growing organisation. Our results are real. Our claims are only what we can prove.

Our institutional partners.

Deliverance Church International, Likoni (KE358)

The church that carries out the KE358 Compassion project in Likoni, and our founding partner. It has hosted all four Elimu+ cohorts to date and incorporated Elimu+ into its Compassion International budget.

KE740 Good News Church of Africa Mtongwe CDC

Our newest partner. Currently formalising our capacity-building relationship.

Elimu+ works exclusively through institutions. If your organisation serves women or youth in urban Kenya and wants to bring this programme to your community, we want to hear from you.
